CLEP, known to many as College-Level Examination Program, is probably the best way for a high school senior who is planning to attend a college and wanting to get some college credits in the shortest amount of time without having to spend their money by attending normal college courses.

At present, about 2900 colleges approve CLEP credits and the majority do not even charge a fee for transferring the credits to your college transcript. It will cost you about $110 to take a CLEP exam and you can get these credits for a college semester without actually having to take the course.

By taking the CLEP exam, you can earn credits by using the basic material that you have already mastered and are knowledgeable in without actually having to take the class itself.

CLEP Preparation

CLEP exams are not as easy to pass as you would probably think! The CLEP exam will certainly make you dig deep within your knowledge. By spending the time necessary to prepare for your CLEP exam, you can increase your odds of passing and getting those precious college credits. Of course, discipline and focus are the two major items you must have when preparing to take your exam. The motivation you have can be maintained by considering the time and money you will save.

At your fingertips today, there are many online materials to help prepare you for your CLEP exam. There are free practice sample tests and study guides that you can use anytime you want. They will give you a very good idea of what you can expect and what you should study for before you take your exam. In addition, you can purchase online, CLEP study guides that have probable questions and the answers that you will see on the actual exam you will take.

Today, there are numerous websites available that have multiple options for studying for your CLEP exam. Be sure to search the web for all other possible ways you can study for your exam. The majority of these ways are absolutely free to use and will be extremely helpful to you for studying.

The exam is a timed, 90 minute exam. These exams are usually multiple choice questions, which help quite a bit. Be sure that you pace your time accordingly so you can complete the entire exam within the time allowed, while still being sure to answer most of the questions with the correct answers.

It is extremely crucial for you to get a good night’s sleep the night before your exam, eat a good, nutritious breakfast, bring a couple of #2 pencils (in case your testing center does not use computers) and a working calculator with you on the day of your CLEP exam. Arrive a little early so as to minimize any possible stress you may have.

By studying and preparing yourself for your CLEP exam, you can earn valuable credits for your college years and save yourself quite a decent amount of cash. So, good luck and let’s cross our fingers that you pass your exam!

CLEP Exams can expedite your nursing career. Over the recent years, today’s nursing schools across the country have seen a huge increase in their enrollment. While some students enrolling in nursing school are traditional college students who have chosen nursing as their life-long career, many nursing students are adults wishing to make a career change. They come from various ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds and these nursing students are often similar in that they are drawn to nursing, based on the flexibility of the career, competitive pay and job security.

With the current economic downturn, a career offering job security is hard to find. In spite of the present economic downturn, nursing continues to be a “recession-proof” job and nurses remain in high demand. In addition to offering high job security and financial benefits, nursing offers the opportunity for a rewarding career by providing help to the sick as well as promoting health in well populations.

The sooner an individual can complete course prerequisites and finish nursing school, the sooner he or she can enter their nursing career. Individuals wishing to pursue a career in nursing can choose to earn a bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree. Both baccalaureate and associate degree nursing programs require students to obtain certain prerequisite degree requirements prior to beginning nursing school.

Nursing students will be surprised to learn that there are often cost and time-saving ways to earn some of their prerequisite course requirements. CLEP, College Level Examination Program, is one such way that nursing students can use to save both time and cash.

CLEP, College Level Examination Program, offers a way for future nursing students and college students in general, to earn some credits through demonstrating college-level proficiency on a standardized exam or test. Most CLEP exams are still multiple choice, computerized and a 90 minute timed exam.

CLEP Exams Offered:

There are currently thirty-four different CLEP exams offered in subjects such as English, science, math, and even social sciences. Credits earned through CLEP exams will often apply toward your nursing school prerequisites. For example, if a nursing school requires students to take Introductory Psychology as a prerequisite to entering the nursing program, the nursing student may have the option of taking the Introductory Psychology CLEP test in order to earn some of the required credits.

By completing many of their nursing degree prerequisites using CLEP exams, students may be able to apply to and enter their desired nursing program a little sooner. Less time spent in class can result in more time spent earning money working as a nurse. In addition, with each CLEP test costing less than $110 to take, the savings compared to taking the actual college class are obvious and can save your cash!

Many nursing students would welcome a way to enter their college’s nursing program sooner or to save cash while attending college, but are unsure of how to go about taking advantage of programs such as CLEP. The College Board’s website, www.collegeboard.com, will provide students with information about CLEP exams, including which exams are available today, CLEP testing center locations and how to prepare oneself for CLEP exams.

Students desiring to take CLEP exams, including students who have little background knowledge on a subject, are often able to prepare for a CLEP test in as little time as a few days or a few weeks. Students can also use a wide variety of CLEP test study resources including online study systems, CLEP test study guides, practice CLEP tests, and even college textbooks.

Students are certainly encouraged to talk to their college academic advisers prior to taking a CLEP test in order to learn about their specific college’s CLEP policies. With over 2,900 colleges and universities accepting CLEP exams today, many nursing students will find that their school will allow them to meet certain prerequisite requirements using CLEP exams.

About Us: CLEP exams are an amazing way for nursing students to save both time and cash and get one step closer to entering the exciting, lucrative, stable and rewarding career of nursing.

CLEP Exams

If you have a computer with an Internet connection, you can study for your College Level Examination Program, or CLEP test. CLEP testing could be for you if you need to speed up the time it takes to earn your college degree. By taking a an exam, you can earn anywhere from three to twelve college credits that can be applied to your degree program. Although there are thirty-four exams offered by the College Board, not every college offers credit for every exam, so you will need to check with your college or university about this. However, if they do offer credit, you can save both time and money through CLEP testing.

CLEP Online

Online CLEP study can be the test prep you need to help you achieve a passing score. CLEP study can take several forms; finding the one or ones that work best for you may take a little experimentation.

One online place to start for specific information about what to expect on your CLEP exam is the website for the College Board. Here they offer a description of each exam, as well as suggestions for what to study in order to succeed.

After this, as part of your exam prep you will want to check out a CLEP study guide. Several are available, offered by InstantCert, Peterson’s, the College Board and others. Which you choose can depend on your grasp of the subject and how comfortable you are with taking exams. Many students find that a combination of several guides is the best way for them to excel at CLEP study.

Online CLEP study is available through InstantCert. Offering a series of online flashcards with questions and answers, this program offers a quick and useful review of a subject that takes little time but results in improved test scores.

Another online CLEP study aid are timed practice tests, available from Peterson’s and others. Practice tests give you a chance to see how questions are phrased, and even though you will have different questions for your actual exam, it helps you prepare by helping you think through it in advance, thus saving your valuable time on test day. The practice tests also give a great review of the material, another benefit that comes from this type of CLEP study guide.

Websites and discussion forums also offer another form of online CLEP study help. Here you can talk to people who have recently taken CLEP exams, and learn from their experiences. You might also learn some different ways of studying for your particular subject area test that can be helpful in your quest for a passing grade on the exam.
